Is AD Crit Sion better than AP Sion?
In our Season 3 damage simulator AD Crit Sion does 1,263 combo-plus-autos damage at level 18 against 1900 HP / 75 armour / 50 MR, which is -33% versus AP Sion, with 8,339 effective HP (+60%). That is a damage comparison, not a verdict: Into ranged tops and any team with percent-health damage — you gave up the one thing old Sion had, which was deleting a squishy from stun range.
When should I play AD Crit Sion?
Into melee bruisers who have to stand in your auto range, where the Warmog's-Atma's loop out-sustains their trade damage. Enrage's crit steroid plus Atma's off a Warmog's health pool turns the AP burst mage into a self-healing duelist.
